Trail Running
Discover trail running on Andros. Hundreds of kilometers of trails and roads, with tens of natural springs with drinkable water all year round.
Whether you’re planning to run on steep, technical trails or less demanding, fast mountain roads – Andros has it all.
The trail running opportunities on Andros are endless. The perfect season is usually between the middle of March until the end of May and from the beginning of September until the middle of November.
Andros network of usually technical, single track mountain trails established on the old footpaths connecting the villages would be a great choice for your long runs and learning to float through technical terrain. Its mountain roads, some covered with asphalt, most with rocks and dirt offer a technically-easier, more fast-paced option.

Excellent trails & mountain roads

Starting from Batsi, we’ve established multiple running routes, which we would be more than happy to share with you!
From an easy, almost flat 5k through the village, through technical short runs, moderate 10k’s and trail half marathons, to loops covering more than 30km of mountain terrain with varying difficulty.
If you’d like us to send you some .gpx tracks, just drop us a message.
A place you come back to
Andros is peaceful and quiet, its climate moderate and surprisingly humid even during summer.
Andros is rather scarcely populated for the Cyclades. There are only around 8,000 permament residents, 4,000 of whom live in Chora, the island’s capital.
Daily maximums during the summer hover around 28-30 degreees, while in Athens, just a 2 hour ferry trip away they might reach 40 degrees on the very same days. Closeness of the see, and the island’s topography makes it much more comfortable even during peak summer heat. And its alternative name in Greek is Ydrousa – the place, which has water.
